Greetings! I’m Janet, one of two graduate administrators here in MIT EECS, and one of the co-conspirators behind the EECSblog. Recently, I have been “coaxed” into becoming a guest blogger, which marks my foray into the blogging world. I was intrigued enough to say yes, so we’ll see what happens.
I have been at MIT since 1986, and have been a part of two central administrative units, Student Financial Services and the Provost’s Office, as well as two academic units - Course X (ChemE) and now Course VI (EECS). All of these have been great experiences, with the common theme being exposure to amazing faculty, staff, and STUDENTS!
I live in Swampscott, Massachusetts, which is a quiet little town 13 miles north of Boston. I love sports, and enjoy softball, golf, fishing, and biking, and am a loyal member of Red Sox Nation. My alma mater is Wheaton College (here in Massachusetts), but I do have a familial connection to MIT through my dad, who is a proud member of the great class of 1959. Looking forward to blogging about his recent 50th reunion, and the revenge of the red coats!
