I came to MIT in 2000 as a freshman and after 7 years, three degrees, and a few other events, I am still here. My time at MIT has been pretty exciting thus far, and I hope that the next little while is fun as well, so I have something to blog about.
I am in my third year of graduate study and I do my research at Draper Laboratory, next to MIT’s campus. I work in the Advanced Hardware Development Group, where I am making a microfluidic DNA sensor that utilizes the plasmonic effect to achieve improved resolution and signal-to-noise ratio. I have been able to work on all aspects of this project, from design to simulation to fabrication (where the project is now).
I still haven’t quite decided what I want to do when I grow up, but there are lots of things out there that I enjoy. When I am not in lab, I am an assistant coach for the MIT Varsity Swim Team. Also, I have recently taken up volleyball and play on an MIT club volleyball team. I am also involved in an amazing project called MEET (Middle Eastern Education through Technology).
Other than that, I enjoy working out, singing, photography, and riding my motorcycle.
